What this service helps with
Helps businesses using fossil-fuel heating understand renewable heating alternatives and their trade-offs before considering a switch.
About this support
SEAI's renewable heating section for business explains how switching from fossil-fuel heating to renewable heating systems can cut costs and lower a business's carbon footprint. It sets out the main options businesses can consider - biomass heating, biogas boilers and commercial heat pumps - describing the trade-offs of each, such as fuel cost, ease of switching, maintenance and space needs, and links to related financial incentives such as the Support Scheme for Renewable Heat. It is aimed at businesses currently using fossil-fuel heating that want to understand renewable alternatives before deciding whether to switch. The page is purely informational; it does not take applications itself and signposts to SEAI's separate grant and tariff schemes for funding.
