What this service helps with

Businesses need to reduce waste, raise productivity and improve delivery reliability but lack in-house Lean expertise to identify and implement improvements.

About this support

LEO Wicklow's Lean for Business page explains that Lean tools help companies of any sector identify problems, improve operations and cut costs, citing reported gains such as 20% productivity increases and 40% sales increases. Support is delivered in two ways: One-to-Many, where a single tendered Lean Service Provider runs an initial one to two day 'Introduction to Lean' workshop followed by up to five half-day company visits, or One-to-One, where the company selects its own Lean Service Provider. In both routes the provider visits the business, evaluates its processes, discusses challenges with managers, applies Lean tools relevant to the improvement project, and trains and mentors staff. At the end of the engagement a final report, case study and metrics are sent to LEO Wicklow. Up to 90% of the cost is funded, and the client first talks to the LEO to start the process.
