What this service helps with
Businesses that do not typically engage with the arts need a structured way to explore creative thinking and innovation.
About this support
Spark is run by Leitrim County Council's Arts Office, supported by LEO Leitrim and the Arts Council, and offers Leitrim businesses the chance to collaborate with an artist for a three-week residency. Each year three businesses in Leitrim are selected to work with an artist from any discipline; the residency focuses on creative exploration and research rather than a fixed project outcome, and materials budgets are available if required. Businesses apply by submitting a short online expression of interest form by 30 March. The Arts Office then advertises the opportunity to artists nationally, who tour the selected businesses and submit proposals for the collaboration. Businesses that complete the three-week residency can go on to apply for a longer, six-month residency with more defined outcomes, deepening the creative partnership.
