About this support
The Food Starter Business Programme, run through LEO Galway, is an online programme of four half-day sessions for people with a food business idea or those in the first 24 months of starting a food business. It covers an overview of the Irish food sector through to the practicalities of setting up food production, including market research, routes to market and food business basics. Completing Food Starter is a requirement before taking part in the Food Academy Programme, and LEO Galway also recommends completing a Start Your Own Business Programme beforehand. It is designed to help early-stage food entrepreneurs avoid common pitfalls before investing further in product development.
