Early-stage Monaghan food and drink producers need marketing, technical and retail-readiness skills to reach retail listing standard.
About this support
Food Academy is a training programme for early to mid-stage food and drink business owners, delivered jointly by the Local Enterprise Offices, Bord Bia and SuperValu since 2013. Through the programme, participants develop the tools to assess market gaps for their product, understand core technical issues facing their food or drink business, and learn how to grow sales through better branding and packaging. At the final workshop, participants present their product to a panel from SuperValu; if successful, they can take part in a local shop trial that could, in the right circumstances, progress to a national SuperValu listing, though there is no guarantee of a listing. Selection criteria apply to entry. In Monaghan, prospective applicants are directed to contact assistant business advisor Tara Humphreys for details on eligibility and how to apply.
