Established in 2011, XLVets Skillnet is a not-for-profit learning network co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and its member companies, and describes itself as the only one of Ireland's Skillnet networks dedicated exclusively to the veterinary sector. It provides subsidised, sector-led training and education to veterinary professionals and to the farming community, stating it delivers training to over 2,000 trainees annually. For veterinary members, it develops flexible, practical training programmes responding quickly to trends identified by the network.
