What they do

Restaurant & Hospitality Skillnet was established in 2017 by the Restaurants Association of Ireland (RAI) to provide training for people working in restaurants and the wider hospitality industry, spanning roles from owners and managers to head chefs, commis chefs and front-of-house service staff. It focuses on supporting those already in employment within the sector, helping member companies upskill their existing workforce and train new staff so businesses can remain competitive, retain employees and maintain service quality and product standards. The network also participates in Skillnet Ireland's Skills Connect programme, which is designed for unemployed people and combines free training with work placement access to employers. Its training programmes listing includes e-learning courses, short courses such as sales skills training, and longer programmes running over several months. Businesses join as member companies to access training, and can browse the current programme calendar and enquire about participation through the website's contact page.
