What they do
The MIDAS Electronic Systems Skillnet is a collaboration between semiconductor and electronic systems companies based in Ireland formed to meet their mutual need for cost-effective, world-class training, co-funded by Skillnet Ireland. It organises and procures high-quality trainers from around the world to deliver customised courses locally, and surveys member companies to identify skills gaps and prioritise training according to industry needs. Listed course topics include Embedded C, Introduction to Python 3, SystemVerilog for Verification, essential management skills and DSP fundamentals, aimed at technical, managerial and other skills required in the electronics industry. The network is promoted by MIDAS Ireland CLG and is guided by a Steering Group drawn from member companies. It supports the workforce development needs of businesses within the electronics sector; those not currently in employment are directed to other Skillnet networks through Skills Connect. Businesses in the sector can join by contacting the network to discuss membership and upcoming training programmes.
