Longford Community Resources CLG, established in 1995 and based at Templemichael, Longford, is the integrated local development partnership for the whole of County Longford. It manages the Rural Development (LEADER) Programme and the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme, plus the Rural Social Scheme, the TÚS Community Work Placement Initiative, the Traveller Primary Healthcare Project, Longford Volunteer Centre and County Longford Youth Service. Through SICAP and LEADER it supports would-be entrepreneurs and small rural businesses across the county with mentoring, business planning guidance and project development advice, alongside broader social inclusion and community empowerment work. Support targets unemployed people, disadvantaged groups, Travellers, young people and agri-based community projects throughout Longford.
