IRD Duhallow Skillnet, established in May 2015, is a multi-sector learning network offering local and affordable training for companies of all sizes based in North Cork and the South West Region, including the Duhallow area. It exists to advance the competitiveness, productivity and innovation of businesses through enterprise-led workforce training and networking. There is no membership fee, and companies work with the network manager to identify training needs, helping shape the courses booked and promoted for their business and others in the region. The network also runs a Skills Connect strand offering industry-led programmes for people not currently in employment, subject to eligibility and place availability. A business takes the next step by contacting the network manager directly to discuss training requirements, book courses on a course-by-course basis, or register interest in upcoming events listed on the website.
